These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Melali Indonesia Journeys website and our travel planning services. By using our website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these terms.

Booking on behalf of clients as a tour operator or travel agency? Our International Trade Partner Travel Terms & Conditions govern group and trade reservations instead.

1. Booking and Reservations

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. A deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is typically due 30-60 days before travel, depending on the specific itinerary and suppliers. We will provide detailed payment schedules in your personalised itinerary proposal.

2. Payment Terms

• Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise specified
• Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card (subject to processing fees)
• Prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise agreed
• We reserve the right to adjust prices due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, or government tax changes

3. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees apply based on the timing of cancellation:

• More than 60 days before departure: Deposit only
• 30-60 days before departure: 50% of total cost
• 15-30 days before departure: 75% of total cost
• Less than 15 days before departure: 100% of total cost

Specific cancellation terms may vary by supplier and will be detailed in your itinerary. We recommend travel insurance to protect against unexpected cancellations.

4. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, personal injury, loss of baggage, and other unforeseen circumstances. We are not liable for costs incurred due to events covered by travel insurance.

5. Itinerary Changes

We reserve the right to modify itineraries due to weather conditions, safety concerns, operational requirements, or force majeure events. We will make every effort to provide suitable alternatives of equal value when changes are necessary.

6. Traveller Responsibilities

Travellers are responsible for:

• Ensuring valid passports and required visas for travel
• Complying with local laws and customs
• Following health and safety guidelines
• Informing us of any medical conditions or special requirements
• Behaving respectfully towards local communities and environments

7. Health and Safety

We work with reputable suppliers and guides to ensure your safety. However, travel involves inherent risks. We are not liable for injuries, illnesses, or accidents occurring during your journey unless caused by our negligence.

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of services provided by us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. We act as an agent for third-party suppliers (hotels, airlines, tour operators) and are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

9. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, pandemics, or government restrictions.

10. Complaints

If you experience issues during your journey, please contact us immediately so we can address them promptly. Complaints should be submitted in writing within 30 days of travel completion.

11. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described therein.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, and designs, is protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without permission.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia. Any disputes shall be resolved through negotiation or, if necessary, through Indonesian courts.

14. Amendments

We may amend these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
